Alan, To be exact, I'm not quoting "the French", I'm tangentially paraphrasing a Belgian surrealist painter (or the Belgian surrealist painter) who changed forever the way we look at pipes and images and paint on canvas.
(I'm not sure what you're saying in your last sentence. A couple of entries back your grammar, if not your logic, was impeccable, but it seems to be slipping again.)
