"Supporters believe they have the votes in the Senate to pass as early as today a bill making it virtually impossible for victims of gun violence to file civil suits against the industry -- a testimony to the political clout of gun manufacturers, which have become increasingly vulnerable to civil lawsuits in the District and several states. Twelve Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.), are joining with the Republicans to support the legislation."My son, a Philadephia Eagles fan, just called because a player on his team was shot in Jeb Bush's gunnut paradise. Thank the mythical-bearded-father-of-jeebus-who-lives-in-the-clouds that he and/or his survivors, won't be able to sue a gun manufacturer.

Hi Alan. Welcome back! It has been lonely here in the comments sections without your input. Maybe nobody comments because they're tired of saying "I agree with everything you're saying" (and please take note the proper spelling of "your" and "you're" as used by most liberal commenters).
What exactly is your argument? That if I stop thinking independently and become a supporter of George Bush and his war policies, I will attract hordes of people who will agree with me in happy and haphazardly punctucated fragments of sentences in my comments sections?
Why should I desire such a thing?
"As long as Republicans are in Control we will remain a free Country."?????
Alan, do you see why I have some trouble following the logical leaps in your arguments? I think there is a difference here between liberals and conservatives. I think that liberals tend to be more wary of anyone being "in control". I know that if Al Gore or John Kerry had won, I would have serious arguments with their leadership, just as I had with Bill Clinton (who is a little conservative for my tastes in many areas), but I don't think that any of them would have been saying, "You're either with me or against me." Yes, they would have been working more closely with other nations through the forum provided by the United Nations, and yes, fewer American soldiers would be coming home in coffins.
